Tod A. Kupstas has
over thirteen years of experience in intellectual property law and in
private practice since 2003. He has prosecuted patents in a
variety of technological fields; including mechanical devices,
electrical devices, green technology, complex systems, software,
advanced physics and material science. He has become an expert in
the preparation of complex accelerated examination requests, and has
represented clients in various litigation matters. Additionally, Mr.
Kupstas handles all stages of trademark prosecution and
development. His practice coordinates with clients to meet all of
their intellectual property needs.
Mr. Kupstas started his
career in the Intellectual Property field by working as a Patent
Examiner for the United States Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”)
from 1997-2003. Mr. Kupstas determined whether U.S. patent applications
met the requirements for issuance of a patent. He examined patent
applications in the information reproduction technology fields focusing
on optics. Mr. Kupstas also examined applications in the computer
network field, dealing with Internet applications, email systems, and
client/server systems. Mr. Kupstas received various special achievement
awards, outstanding performance rating awards, and productivity awards
while working as a patent examiner for the USPTO.
Mr. Kupstas
has degrees in Physics and Anthropology from the University of
Pennsylvania. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the top ranked
intellectual property law program of the National Law Center of the
George Washington University, while working at the USPTO. He is a
member of the Pennsylvania bar and is registered to practice before the
USPTO. |
