| Kevin J.
Dunleavy prepares and prosecutes patent applications,
counsels clients on a variety of international patent,
licensing and antitrust issues, handles opposition
proceedings; and prepares validity, infringement,
and patentability opinions. He holds a Bachelor
of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the
University of Rochester and a Juris Doctor degree,
with honors, from the George Washington University
National Law Center, and has 15 years of experience
in the patent field. Mr. Dunleavy served a one-year
judicial clerkship for Judge Daniel J. Davidson
in the Commissioner's Office of the Food and Drug
Administration. A member of the Pennsylvania, Virginia,
and District of Columbia Bars, he is admitted to
practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office,
the European Patent Office, and the Court of Appeals
for the Federal Circuit. Mr. Dunleavy, a former
faculty member for the Patent Resources Group, taught
a biannual course on European patent practice. Mr.
Dunleavy has been active in such technologies as
polymer production and processing, rubber chemicals,
detergents and surfactants, petrochemicals and petroleum
cracking catalysts, food additives and packaging,
medical devices, vehicle brake and transmission
systems, metallurgy, athletic shoes, work boats
and biotechnology. Mr. Dunleavy is fluent in Dutch
and reads French and German. Mr. Dunleavy is a frequent
lecturer on topics such as European patent practice
and has written several articles on international
patent law issues. Mr. Dunleavy currently manages
the Amsterdam, Netherlands office of Knoble Yoshida
& Dunleavy, LLC.
